LinkedIn doesn't need to be time consuming
June 06, 2011
Being an active and productive member of the LinkedIn community only needs to take up to twenty minutes of your day - at the very most - according to a leading corporate social media solutions provider.
Randy Schrum, the St Louis-based founder of MyCorporateMedia, said that no one should be convinced that they are just too busy to make time to keep their LinkedIn presence up to date, as it hardly takes any time at all.
Schrum said that having profile that has a decent skeleton, with some hearty meat on its bones, means that the daily work on it only needs to be small additional updates - with no need for any particular lengths of time spent working on it.
"Once you’ve fully completed your profile and made a few connections using the email search feature and joined a couple of relevant groups, you can streamline your daily LinkedIn routine to just this list of daily tasks," said Schrum
These include posting quick updates, looking for and responding to invitations to connect, scanning new connections' own lists for any further contacts, reading and responding to discussions on topics of interest and also writing recommendations for contact and connections you want to vouch for.
