LinkedIn UK advertising push set to raise its profile

July 07, 2011

LinkedIn’s importance in the UK is only set to be enhanced as the company embarks on a new push to generate increased marketing spend from advertisers in the UK.

The campaign, which has been launched today and will span the whole of Europe, will directly target larger-scale media agencies, with the intention of promoting viable brand opportunities, according to information gathered by Marketing Magazine.

The campaign will use a range of modern media – using direct marketing alongside digital and experimental methods – to raise awareness of the advertising products that LinkedIn provides and the benefits that they can create for companies and their brands.

It is hoped that the new drive will increase the site’s already healthy role in UK recruitment and business-orientated networking – which will make it all the more important for users to have the appropriate LinkedIn training tips to make sure they are using it to its optimum advantage.

LinkedIn already sits in the top three of the most popular – and often-used – social networking sites in the UK, alongside Twitter and Facebook, according to figures from business information providers, UK Online Measurement (UKOM) and Nielsen.

The general manager of UKOM, James Smythe, said that companies need to keep up with these sites in terms of keeping relevant in the modern market, and not to fear “fuel[ing]new directions for their brand.”
